The Role on Offer This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the sports industry while working alongside AFL Tasmania's Participation and Community Football team. You will help deliver football programs in schools and communities, support local clubs and volunteers, assist with events, and contribute to projects that encourage more people to get involved in sport. This role is ideal for a young person who enjoys working with people, wants to make a positive impact in their community and is interested in building a career in sport, recreation, events, community development or business. No football playing experience is required. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and excited to develop new skills. This position will be commencing in 2027. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of AFL participation programs, including Auskick, school programs, Tasmania Devils clinics and community activations. Assist with the coordination of events, junior competitions and match day activities. Build positive relationships with schools, clubs, teachers, volunteers and community stakeholders. Help manage program resources, equipment, databases and administrative tasks. Support initiatives that increase participation among women and girls, multicultural communities and First Nations communities. Assist with social media, promotions, reporting and general office operations. Travel to schools, clubs and community venues across Tasmania to support program delivery. Undertake other duties that contribute to positive participation and community football outcomes. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic young female who is passionate about sport, community participation and creating positive experiences for others. You may be a recent school leaver, looking for a gap year opportunity, changing career direction, or keen to gain practical experience while completing further study. Previous football experience is not required.   The Ideal Candidate Will: Enjoy working with people and building relationships. Be confident communicating with children, parents, schools, clubs and community members. Have good organisation and time management skills. Bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Be reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Have an interest in sport, events, community engagement or recreation. Hold a current driver's licence and have access to a vehicle.
